We are staging Brenton versus Brenton and Womberang in September.
Both plays are a slight departure
from our usual productions and patrons are advised that they contain adult humour.
Benton versus Brenton by David Tristram
is an outrageous spoof of American soaps and mini-series set in the manic world of a failing Chicago
advertising agency where the only account is with a condom manufacturer.
Womberang, written by Sue Townsend, is set in the waiting
room of a gynaecology clinic in the Eighties and was premièred by WTS to a small audience in May as part of a collaboration
with Halton Amateur Theatrical Society.
Director and WTS chairman
Carol Blake says: “It was so well received we feel it deserves a wider
audience and so we have decided to perform it again as part of our September production.
We have a fabulous cast, led by Caron Scott playing the balsy in your face free spirited Rita Onions who brings joy
and creates anarchy amongst the patients.
“Both plays are laugh
out loud productions and should provide a terrific night out.”
The two one-act comedies,
will be performed at Wendover Memorial Hall on the evenings of Friday 17th and Saturday 18th September
at 8pm. The cost of the tickets £10 and £8 (concessions) includes a Ploughmans
Supper. There is also a licensed paid bar available.
To book tickets call the
Box Office on 01296 582329. Some tickets may be available on the door on the night, but it is advisable to book.
